Nursery - Autumn Term 2020
Christmas
Christmas has arrived in Nursery! The children came into class and it looked a bit different. The children loved spotting all the different things, the nativity, Kevin the carrot and the snow tray. They quickly noticed that the tree didn’t have any decorations! So we decorated it!
Remembrance Day
The children have enjoyed learning about Remembrance Day. We watched a short cartoon on CBeebies and talked about how brave our soldiers were. The children then made a poppy, learning to build up a picture by waiting for paint to dry before doing the next part. The children also took part in a minute's silence.
Nursery Rhyme Week
This week we have been celebrating nursery rhymes. In nursery we focused on Incy Wincy Spider and Humpty Dumpty. We made spiders using pine cones and pipe cleaners. We also made Humpty Dumpty sandwiches (Egg mayonnaise), some of us loved them...some of us didn’t!!
Shapes & Patterns
We have been exploring shapes and patterns. We have talked about 2D shapes and how we recognise them. We also looked at repeating patterns learning about how to look for a pattern and identifying what comes next.
Number Two
The children have been learning about the Number 2. We have been looking at how we make two, using the language of 1 and another 1 makes 2. The children then decorated the number 2 using 2 colours.
